Maremma: Vacation Rentals at the Beach in Tuscany

At the Albegna river, just 200 meters from the beach, sits the lovely and spacious Casale del Breschi, a farmhouse which dates to the 18th century, when improvements of the Maremma and its coasts were part of the reformist policies of the Granduke Peter Leopold. The Casale was used for storage of salt and charcoal, both vital ingredients for the economy of the time and for daily life.

From the original farmhouse, the owners have created 2 vacation rentals, a lovely 4 bedroom apartment on 2 levels as well as a separate two bedroom apartment on the upper floor. A footpath leads to a sandy beach (200 yards) with an adjacent area for outdoor dining. These properties have no central heat and are therefore available as vacation rentals only in late spring, summer and early fall.

At Casale del Breschi, rentals are by the week, deposit is 50 percent.
